Love is in the air and Simon Says Stamp has made it even more fun to create projects to show someone that you love them with their 2013 Valentine's Day release.
I was asked to create a project using something from this release to share in today's Valentine's Day Blog Hop.
I decided to make a few projects using some of my favourite colours for Valentine's Day - Red, Kraft, Aqua and White and the great new exclusives from Simon Says Stamp.
(Edited to add: A lot of people have asked how I made the bottlecap magnets so I've decided to create more with the SSS February card kit and do a video! Watch for that here on the blog in a few days!)
Happy Valentine's Day!
I created the card using a Hero Arts notecard and attached the focal part of the card with foam adhesive to give it some dimension. The kitties are stamped on Neenah Solar White cardstock, coloured with Copics and cut out. I adhered them to the card and then added a piece of the SSS exclusive woodgrain paper that I inked with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink. I stamped the sentiment and stamped and cut out the heart. I added Stardust Stickles to the heart and added it to the card with foam adhesive.
The candy is a glassine bag with a topper adhered on top. I cut out Pool Layering paper with a Spellbinders die and then added stamped/diecut hearts with some gems and washi tape to complete it.

Valentine's Day Magnets
For the magnets, I flattened bottle caps and punched out 1" circles for the insides. I stamped on them with various stamps from the SSS releases and then adhered them to the bottle caps. I filled the entire cap with glossy accents and let dry overnight. You can get this exact same look with epoxy circle stickers that stick right inside the cap and need no drying time. I used glossy accents because I wanted my magnets to have a vintage look (letting the glossy accents sit directly on the ink makes it smear a bit and take on a bit of a yellow tinge)
